KS Kolbenschmidt Czech Republic, a.s. is a significant manufacturer of pistons that go into gasoline and diesel engines as well as compressors. Located right in the north of the Czech Republic, this is presently the biggest European pistons facility of the Group.
The latter’s history reaches back to 1916. In 1933, it began manufacturing pistons for Škoda passenger cars and Tatra commercial vehicle engines. In 1995, KS Kolbenschmidt GmbH acquired this Czech pistons manufacturer and has since continuously expanded it into a profitable operation.
Nowadays, more than 700 employees develop and build pistons for cars and trucks as well as for 2-stroke hand-held equipment used in forestry, gardening and for compressors. The range of diameters extends from 20 to 150 mm.
